Here is another panorama from the heartland. This image is a composite of two photographs. The native size of the final print is 13 x 26 inches. I am going to give this some serious thought before I print it. I can’t wait to see it on the wall. As I write this, the wonderful golden fields are no longer with us. The beans have become dull brown, a mere hint of the beauty that they had just a few days ago. I will have to look elsewhere for something to shoot. Fortunately like the weather here, the scenery also changes on a frequent basis. I hope you like this photo that I call “Fields Of Plenty.”

Gold Rush

Sad but true, the colors are changing around here. A few days ago truly stunning yellows filled the fields. Now one sees more dull browns as the beans are nearly ready to harvest. It looks like I will have to shift my color quest to something else. As a way to say thanks for the great moments, here is another field of beans photo that I call Gold Rush. I hope you like it.
Harvest Road

This photograph is a big one! It is a three frame composite that ends up with an image size of approximately 12 x 26. I stitched it together using Photoshop’s photo merge feature. I also gave the overall image my usual creative bump in color and contrast. As always, I like to think of my images as emotionally accurate, i.e. appearing to others as the scene appeared to me in my mind’s eye. I cannot wait to print this one. I shot it looking northwest from my front yard, standing on a step ladder in order to get the angle of view I wanted. I have not made many panoramas mainly because they come out so large. This one, however, is a keeper. If you look closely, you might be able to see that the road running from right to left actually continues clear over to the far left side of the image. It goes without saying that I really am enjoying what one can do with digital photography. I hope you will enjoy this image.
Shadow Dancing

I have been watching this scene for a couple of weeks, waiting for the right combination of light and moment. Today everything came together, including a nice mid-morning light, crops that had turned to gold, and clouds that cast shadows below as they moved slowly over the area. When all of the elements came together, I had to drag a step ladder to the spot I was shooting from, so that I could get the angle of view that I needed. For someone who has a well developed fear of heights, this was no small task! I hope you like this image. I call it Shadow Dancing.

I am really excited to let you all know that I am having my first real art gallery show. For the month of September, my photographs are on display at the Gypsy Art Gallery in Council Bluffs Iowa. The street address is One Market Building – 109 Pearl Street. The gallery is open Tuesday-Friday 10 am to 5 pm, Saturday 10 am to 3 pm. This gallery show is awarded to the featured artist for the monthly Second Fridays art show. I will admit that preparing for this show took an incredible amount of time and energy. I have not worked so hard in decades!

At long last, I am done with my air show series. This final photo was shot during the U.S. Navy Blue Angels performance. It was an incredible show. Even with my limited zoom lens, I managed to capture one shot that I enjoy. Hopefully you and I will never face the kind of traffic jam that these aviators no doubt take for granted.
