Heartland Views

I have just added a photo gallery to this web site. If you look in the upper left corner, you can find the tab that will take you to the gallery. It is my hope and understanding that this gallery will be populated with my photos as I add them to my front page. At the very least, this should be a good place to take a quick look at my most recent work. Here’s hoping this works. It took a long time for me to figure this out! 

May 11, Veteran’s Day, always reminds me of my Dad. He served in the U.S. Navy in WWII. I did my service in the U.S. Air Force in the early 1970s. I shot this photo a few years ago. It is the veteran’s memorial in my home town, Mason City Iowa. Even as a little boy, I knew that one day I would serve. I have my Dad to thank for that sense of duty, honor and country. Here’s wishing all veterans the best on this day.

What is it that makes twins so special? I have no real sense of the special bond that is held by those most fortunate to be a twin. From all that I have heard, two minds are better than one. This image is for all of you who are truly “Twins.”

There is no doubt in my mind that my head is either in the clouds or on the ground. This is one of my ground shot moments. I shot this one afternoon after working on another image that loomed above my head. That image did not work out. But this one had what I like to call, “The Midas Touch.”
